Clinic guidance

Helpful policies and follow-up reminders.

These practical reminders help the clinic protect appointment time, privacy and continuity of care.

  • Respectful care environment. The practice has zero tolerance for aggressive, disrespectful or combative behaviour.
  • One main concern per appointment. If you have additional issues to discuss, please arrange another appointment so each concern can receive appropriate attention.
  • Test and investigation results. Contact the clinic to arrange follow-up for results. Turnaround is often about 1–2 weeks, although some investigations can take longer.
  • Medication refills. Prescriptions are commonly managed in three-month cycles when clinically appropriate. Arrange a review before you run out and ask your pharmacy to send a refill request ahead of the appointment.
  • Uninsured services. Fees may apply to services not covered by OHIP, including some forms, notes or letters and certain procedures.
  • Appointment cancellations. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling. A cancellation fee may apply under clinic policy.
  • Appointment timing. Clinical needs can occasionally make appointments run later than scheduled. Complex care sometimes requires more time than expected.
  • Accessibility and accommodations. Tell the front desk if you have a concern or need an accommodation so available options can be discussed.
  • Clinical documentation. The clinic may use approved technology to support accurate documentation. Ask the care team if you have questions about how documentation is handled.
  • Emergencies. For life-threatening symptoms or injuries, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
